DESCRIPTION:on the ‘hat : Voice\, flute\, pianoJazz standards with an unu
 sual flutey twist and some contemporary classical music – specialize in 
 music by local women\non the ‘hat is an ensemble of musical friends (Ma
 rnie Setka-Mooney\, soprano\; Diane Berry\, flute\; Kathryn Le Gros piano)
  that has performed together for a number of recitals and concerts in the 
 last few years. The name of the group recognizes that the Malahat is a con
 nector for the members\; Marnie lives in Lake Cowichan\, Kathryn in the We
 stshore and Diane in the Mount Douglas area. Some of their earliest perfor
 mances were concerts of contemporary classical music\, particularly that o
 f Leila Lustig\, and Diane Berry.  More recently\, they created BeMused\
 , a concert featuring 4 Canadian Women composers\, that was performed at t
 he Canadian Music Centre in Vancouver and the Ward Room in Esquimalt.  Th
 ey have performed live and live-streamed events celebrating Advent and Len
 t\, as well as in a full concert video during covid.  \nWhile all three a
 re classical musicians\, their love of the music of a variety of genres ha
 s meant they each have played with other ensembles specializing in jazz\, 
 folk\, and even oldies rock.  They now bring that eclectic mix together i
