I will be offering an Advent Study entitled ‘Names for the Messiah’ utilizing a book by Walter Brueggemann, an ordained minister in the  United Church of Christ,  professor at Columbia Theological Seminary, and renowned author.

The focus will be on the names that come out of  chapter nine of the book of the prophet Isaiah and are associated with the Advent/Christmas season:  Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Among the questions we will look at are: What do these names signify?  What were the expectations of Jesus associated with these titles; Did Jesus fulfill them?  Which of these names/titles or other names/titles Jesus is known by, resonate for you?  Who is Jesus for you?

We will gather once a week for 4 weeks, beginning on Saturday, November 26, 10:30 to noon

If you are interested feel free to speak with me, or email me.

Blessings, Rev. Bob

** The first session will be held in the Church Hall. The following 3 weeks will be in the Sanctuary**
