Children Are Welcome on Sundays
At CSUC, we want children and families to know that they are welcome whenever they join us. As we build our Sunday morning ministry with children, we are beginning with three simple commitments:
Children will be included. Each minister in our worship rotation will do their best to involve and engage children when they are present, helping them know that they are an important part of our worshipping community.
Activities will always be available. Look for children's clipboards near the entrance, filled with colouring sheets and quiet activities to use during worship. These will be refreshed regularly and, whenever possible, will connect with the theme of the day.
Children's programming during the “long talk”! We are developing a roster of volunteer leaders who will invite children to join them for approximately 25 minutes of age-appropriate stories, activities and conversation during the sermon, returning to worship afterward.
This is a beginning. As more children and families become part of our Sunday mornings, we will learn, adapt and build our children's ministry to meet the needs that emerge.
Children don't have to know how to “do church” to belong here. They are welcome just as they are.
